Section reference
Aurelia ships 27 sections you can add anywhere in the theme editor, plus 25 more that back the templates themselves (product, collection, cart, blog, search, the customer account pages, header, footer, and cart drawer). This file covers the 27 addable ones.
Every section supports Shopify's standard section settings — padding, and where noted a Color scheme that selects one of the three schemes defined by your theme style. Sections without a colour scheme setting inherit the page's.
Heroes
Four heroes, differing in what carries the message. Any of them can be the first section on the homepage, which is what activates the transparent header.
Hero
A single full-bleed image with an overlay, eyebrow, heading, subheading, and one
button. Height is adjustable (small / medium / large / full screen) and the
overlay opacity controls how far the image is darkened behind the text. The image
uses a slow Ken Burns drift that is disabled under prefers-reduced-motion.
Settings: image, overlay opacity, height, eyebrow, heading, subheading, button label, button link
Split hero
Image on one side, copy on the other, with a position toggle. Reads calmer than a full-bleed hero and works better when the product photography is a cutout rather than a scene.
Settings: colour scheme, image, image position, eyebrow, heading, text, button label, button link
Collage hero
Two images — one large, one offset accent — beside the copy. The Reverse toggle mirrors the arrangement.
Settings: colour scheme, main image, accent image, reverse, eyebrow, heading, text, button label, button link
Video hero
A self-hosted video background, muted, looped, and playing without native controls — so the section carries its own visible pause button. If you set a poster image but no video, the poster is used as a still hero, which is a reasonable answer for shoppers on metered connections.
Settings: video, poster, overlay opacity, height, eyebrow, heading, subheading, button label, button link
Slideshow
Multiple heroes in rotation. Each Slide block is a full hero of its own —
image, overlay, eyebrow, heading, subheading, button. Autoplay is optional; when
it is on, the slideshow carries a pause button, halts while the pointer is over
it, and does not advance at all under prefers-reduced-motion.

Product merchandising
Featured collection
A row of product cards from one collection, with the section's own eyebrow and heading. Cards carry quick add, wishlist hearts, badges, and swatches — the same card used on collection pages.
Settings: colour scheme, collection, products to show, eyebrow, heading
Featured product
A full product form — variants, price, quantity, add to cart — for a single product, embedded in any page. Accepts app blocks and custom Liquid blocks, so subscription widgets and similar apps work inside it.
Settings: colour scheme, product, eyebrow · Blocks: custom Liquid, app blocks
Collection list
Hand-picked collections as image tiles. Each Collection block can override the collection's own image and title, which matters when the collection image is a product shot rather than an editorial one.
Settings: eyebrow, heading · Blocks: Collection
Collections grid
Every collection in the store, paginated. This is what the list-collections
template uses; add it to an ordinary page only if you want a second, differently
framed catalogue index.
Settings: collections per page
Lookbook
One editorial image with shoppable hotspots. Each Hotspot block takes a
product and its position as horizontal and vertical percentages — 50 and 50
is dead centre. Clicking a hotspot opens the product in quick view.
Settings: image, eyebrow, heading · Blocks: Hotspot
Jewelry-specific
Ring sizer
An interactive sizer with no settings at all. The shopper calibrates the screen against any bank card, then matches an existing ring against on-screen circles to read US, UK, and EU sizes. Best placed on a size guide page rather than a product page.
Gift finder
A two-question quiz — occasion, then budget — that routes to a collection. Add one Result block per combination you want to answer; each takes an occasion, a budget band, a destination collection, and an optional note. Combinations with no matching block are not offered in the quiz, so you only ever advertise routes you have actually merchandised.

Editorial and storytelling
Editorial
Image and text side by side, with a position toggle and one button. The image carries a light parallax on scroll. Use it for provenance, craft, and materials copy — the sections that justify a fine-jewelry price.
Settings: colour scheme, image, image position, eyebrow, heading, text, button label, button link
Statement
A single large pull-quote or manifesto line, set in the heading font, with an eyebrow above it. No image, no button. Effective as a palate cleanser between two image-heavy sections.
Settings: colour scheme, eyebrow, text
Gallery
A grid of images, two to four columns, each with an optional caption and link. Captions are real text rather than baked into the image, so they translate and are readable to a screen reader.
Settings: eyebrow, heading, columns · Blocks: Image
Video
An embedded video — self-hosted through Shopify, or a YouTube or Vimeo URL.
Prefer the self-hosted field: a YouTube or Vimeo embed pulls in several hundred
kilobytes of third-party script. Both embeds are lazy-loaded, so that cost is
deferred until the section approaches the viewport, and the YouTube embed uses
the no-cookie domain while Vimeo is sent dnt=1.
Settings: eyebrow, heading, video, video URL
Marquee
A single line of text scrolling horizontally, with a pause button beside it.
Does not animate at all under prefers-reduced-motion.
Settings: text
Logo bar
Press mentions or stockist logos in a row, each with alt text.

Trust and conversion
Countdown
A dated urgency band over a background image: eyebrow, heading, text, a live countdown to your end date, and either a button or an inline email capture. Badge blocks add small icon-and-text reassurances beneath. When the end date passes the section removes itself from the page rather than counting backwards — an expired sale banner is worse than no banner.
Settings: colour scheme, image, overlay opacity, eyebrow, heading, text, end date, CTA style, button label, button link, form note · Blocks: Badge
Value props
Three or four icon-and-text columns — shipping, returns, care, authenticity. Icons come from a built-in set, so there is nothing to upload.
Blocks: Prop
Testimonials
Customer quotes in a grid, a carousel, or a single-quote spotlight, with optional star ratings and avatars. Each Testimonial block takes a quote, an author, a role, a rating, and an image.
Settings: colour scheme, layout, show stars, eyebrow, heading · Blocks: Testimonial
FAQ
Accordion questions and answers. The section also emits FAQPage structured data,
which is what makes the questions eligible to appear directly in Google results —
so put your real shipping, returns, and sizing questions here rather than in a
plain page.
Settings: colour scheme, eyebrow, heading · Blocks: Question
Newsletter
Email capture through Shopify's own customer list. Subscribers appear under Customers with the Accepts marketing flag set.
Settings: colour scheme, eyebrow, heading, text
Announcement bar
One or more rotating messages above the header, each optionally linked. Belongs to the header group, so it stays pinned with the header.
Blocks: Message
Contact
A contact form with your own eyebrow, heading, and intro copy, plus Detail blocks for address, hours, phone, and email — each with an icon and an optional link. Submissions arrive at your store's customer email.
Settings: eyebrow, heading, text, show phone · Blocks: Detail
Developer escape hatches
Custom Liquid
A raw Liquid field. Use it for app snippets, tracking pixels, or one-off markup that does not justify a section of its own.
Settings: custom Liquid
Custom section
An empty, background-image-capable container that accepts any theme block — group, text, and custom Liquid — nested freely. Use it to compose a layout the other 26 sections do not cover, without writing a section file.
Settings: background image · Blocks: any theme block
Sections you cannot add manually
These are fixed to their templates and configured in place: product, collection, collection filtering, cart, cart drawer, quick view, blog, article, search, 404, password, page, header, footer, related products, recently viewed, pickup availability, popup, wishlist, and the seven customer account sections (login, register, account, addresses, order, activate account, reset password).
